ABOUT

By day, Sharon Saline is a clinical psychologist in Northampton who works primarily with children, adolescents and families living with ADHD. By night, she’s a cabaret performer who mixes songs from musical theater, jazz standards and rock with personal stories about life’s crazy moments and its more challenging ones. A former professional actress who loves both comedy, musicals and improvisational theater, Sharon has also directed and performed in children’s theater. She sang for five years with High Definition, a women’s accapella group in Northampton, before focusing solely on her cabaret shows. Sharon has studied storytelling with Gerald Stropnicky (“First Person Story” workshop at the KO Theater Festival) and is a long-time student of Justina Golden at the Profound Sound Voice studio.

In her professional life, Sharon has authored several articles and conducted numerous trainings both nationally and internationally for parents, educators, therapists and high school students on a variety of topics including understanding the teen brain, living with  ADHD, navigating the world of technology, reducing bullying and improving family relationships. She is also the parent of two young adult children. Sharon brings her experience from all of these realms into her cabaret shows with humor, honesty and creativity.

Sharon has performed her cabaret shows in Northampton as fundraisers in the past for the Northampton High School theater department, Congregation Beit Ahavah and The Northampton Community Music Center. She is committed to bringing people together to celebrate the arts, promote storytelling and building connections between generations. Her shows appeal to young and old alike because she recounts aspects of her own life  in this complicated, sometimes crazy world, that resonate with everyone.

"Watching Sharon in her cabaret was a magical experience. Her talent at comedy combined with a depth of revelation and her ability to connect personally with every audience member was mesmerizing to me. Add on top of that her fantastic singing/songwriting, and I would go see anything she was in. I had never met or seen her before, so this evening was a delightful surprise."

An Original Cabaret Show

A benefit for the Northampton High School Fine and Performing Arts Department

Directed by Toby Bercovici
Musical Direction by Justina Golden
Featuring Joe Belmont Trio and Lauren Bell

An original cabaret show, Heres Where I Let Go, is a fundraiser for the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Northampton High School on March 24, 25 and 26. Using songs from musical theater, jazz standards and rock'n'roll as well as personal stories, Sharon creates a show that will have you laughing about life's crazy moments and touched by its more challenging ones. She brings together adults and youth to listen, laugh, and ponder our common human experience of living, loving, and learning. Sharon will be joined by the Joe Belmont Trio and Justina Golden, among others.

The NHS Fine and Performing Arts Department offers a variety of opportunities for students interested in visual art, music and theater but lacks adequate funding. The proceeds from this show will support visiting artists, transportation to perform at local schools, assistance for the theaters new touring production and additional supplies for student murals in the building are essential to enrich both the students and the entire community. This show helps foster the creative endeavors of young people in these days of dwindling resources.
